Beyond material happiness.

You know each year, i celebrate my birthdays with much more happiness than the previous one. Not because i received more presents nor is it that my birthdays are more well-celebrated, but because i get to understand better the underlying meaning for celebrating birthdays. Birthdays to me, is not just an occasion to symbolise growth and maturity. It sort of serves as a constant reminder of the people who cared for me, who were once and are still in my life, and the memories we all hold.

Every year, i received birthday greetings from different people. The list is always changing but there are a few names that always stays. It could be my very very good friend who understands me inside out or even just an old friend with little contact but still makes the effort to rmb the day and gives me his/her blessings. I feel honoured and loved because they are with me after all these years.

There are certain things and people who just stays in your mind no matter how long time has passed. Just like how i was telling Mummy i can still rmb my primary sch's best friend's home no. LOL. Because i used to call her so frequently, almost everyday!

Honestly, my presents are going downhill each year! Haha. Getting lesser and lesser! LOL. But on the contrary, my happiness level is just rightly inversely proportionate. Celebrations becomes so much more meaningful because i know at the end of the day, presents, they wear and tear and what only remains are memories and still, memories. You cant possibly bring anything along with you when you die, besides memories.

"生命重要与过程而不是结果。
它是一种体验。
就算是痛,也去享受那个痛的感觉。
因为会痛就证明你还活着。"
