It's 330am now and im still not sleeping. My legs are aching like hell after a long day of shopping and my mind is filled with so many thoughts. No, im not happy despite having done what i like the entire day.
Help, is defined as standing in the shoes of the other person, giving what he really needs, and not giving what you think he needs.
Take for example, when someone is troubled over issues, by keeping quiet and leaving him alone isnt helping him if what he needs is someone to be there for him to seek advice and act as a listening ear. Vice versa. If what he needs is to be left alone for some time to sort out his thoughts, gg after him and trying to help will only add on to his burden, leaving the problems unsolved.
The intentions might be good, but what's the point when the 'help' given has not benefitted the receiving party to its fullest, if at all, in the first place?
It's really easy to say and come up with loads of philosopies in life. But understanding it and doing it are 2 different things. How often can we practise what we preach? How often do you find yourself committing the wrongs you see in others? You might not remember any circumstances but that does not mean that you hadnt committed them, but just that you are ignorant of your own flaws and you have yet to realise it.
So the next time when you claim you're helping someone, think again, is how you are trying to help really helping?
But afterall, how many of us can actually decipher and offer the right form of help to the right people at the right time in life, let alone always?
