Today Darren(my bosses's boss) says that im starting to speak like a machine now. =/ FYI, im currently working as a PA(personal assistant) for 5 agents at prudential, so its like i change bosses everyday. Hahaha! Initally work started off to be kinda challenging and refreshing because it was like a full 7 hours of calling like a telemarketeer. My past 2 jobs were fulltime office admin jobs so this was rlly different. I was trained by darren personally from the start and he taught me alot on human psychology which was essential esp whn i talk over the phone w complete strangers, trying to buy their time and make them hear me out.
3 days into the job and im starting to get the hang of it. No more stutters. Im so much more fluent and managed to clinch appts, the record being 8 in a day so far. Im so proud. =) Heh.
But 1 week later and i got sick of it honestly. I thought of quitting because consecutive long hours of calling everyday is rlly draining. So we came to a mutual agreement of cutting my working hours frm 7 to 5, adding some admin duties in btwn too. It worked, a bit actually. Haa.
Thn after 2 weeks now, a new problem popped out! Im beginning to talk like a machine. Because i keep repeating the same stuff over and over agn for every call. I think the most impt skill i've gotta pick up now is flexibility and learning to speak to strangers like they are my 1oyrs friend. Rapport rapport!! I need to make them feel less distant and break the great wall of china btwn us! Hahaha!
Come to think of it, i find working at pru a v gd opportunity for myself actually cause this is just the right place where i can learn to pick up social skills, so right now, im trying to make myself stay positive and not be that reluctant to do calling. Hang on there yufen! YOU CAN DO IT! Its rlly not as bad as what most ppl think of as being a telemarketeer, trust me!
Alright, to happier stuff now! I've been having the strong urge to do manicure lately. I WANT PRETTY NAILS!! I've always thought that the nails and hair are extremely impt features for girls. Having pretty nails and hair make you feel pretty too! =) But i've been trying hard to scrimp and save for my coming hongkong trip so nono, shldnt splurge unnecessarilyy. AND YES!!! IM GG HONGKONG LIKE WHAT, NEXT FRI? ZOMG! Im freaking excited! This would be my virgin trip overseas w my friends. Totally cant wait to 买东西吃东西买东西吃东西！=D
And what a coincidence, almost my entire family will be gg overseas this april except poor daddy. =( Mummy is gg to China this coming sunday for about a week. She would be there sourcing for cheap and nice clothes w her colleague cause they're intending to start some online shopping biz. Initially mummy was kinda hesitating bout it but both me and sissy rooted for her! It's like a now or never thing? I mean even if things didnt turn out well in the end, there's still no harm trying right? And i actually secretly wished that she could go take a break, 散散心也好！And my ahma is gg away w my aunts to genting while im in hk too! How exciting this apr would be for my family! Madness!! Hahaha!
(Psst...i always wonder how could anyone possibly do anything w such pretty and heavy nails? Dont they find it a nuisance? =x)
